Motivational Interviewing Tune-up: Change Talk

LIVE webinar presented by Tina Iler, LCSWR – 2 CEs on Friday, February 28, 2020. This 2 hour long beginning to intermediate level recorded webinar for social work and other clinical professionals offers a closer look at Change Talk. Upon completion of the course, participants will. . . You will receive a link to the LIVE webinar a few days before the training.  Participants will learn to cultivate and respond to Change Talk using MI based skills. Specific learning objectives are: to be able to describe the benefits of eliciting Change Talk for the client, to assess client verbalization for Change Talk, to be able to explain the difference between Preparatory Change Talk and Mobilizing Change Talk, and to describe how to respond to client Change Talk.  Earlybird sign-up TBA

Cannabis

LIVE webinar presented by Ruth Campbell, LCSW & Richard Coleman, LMSW – 2 CEs on Saturday, March 14, 2020. This 2 hour long beginning to intermediate level recorded webinar for social work and other clinical professionals offers a closer look at Cannabis, legal status, treatment options, medical uses. Upon completion of this course. Participants will be able to: list two physiological effects of cannabis, describe two varieties of cannabis by psychoactive properties, describe one symptom of moderate-severe Cannabis Use Disorder,  list one assessment instrument for Cannabis Use Disorder, and describe two medical conditions for which cannabis is prescribed as medicine. Course completion requirements

To earn CE credit, participants must attend the entire course as determined electronically, an online course evaluation and a posttest with at least 75% accuracy. A second try at the posttest is available if the participant cannot achieve 75% this first try. Further attempts must be authorized by the CE Director.  Certificates of completion will be emailed within 10 business days of course completion.

Course interaction & system requirements
This LIVE webinar is fully interactive. Attendees may ask and answer questions throughout the presentation and participate in instructor-led discussions. Course questions, comments may be directed to the author by email (announced at the webinar) See GRIEVANCE policy below for complaints procedures.

Operating Systems: Windows XP or higher, MacOS9 or higher, Android 4.0 or higher
Internet browser: Internet Explorer 9.0 or higher, Google Chrome, Firefox 10.0 or higher
Broadband Internet connections: Cable, High-speed DSL & any other medium that is internet accessible.
Media viewing requirements: Adobe Reader, Flash Player, & HTML5
DISABILITIES: For technical difficulties/disabilities, such as not having devices with technology which meets operating system requirements, or having difficulty with that technology, paper copies of pretests and posttests can be mailed. For those with hearing difficulties, the courses have a written narrative which may be accessed with the click of a button. For those who are “print-disabled,” the courses are narrated. Other difficulties with technology (can’t open a second window on your device, can’t get access to the training site, can’t remember password, etc.) may be able to be remedied by contacting helpdesk@bestpracticetrainers.org which may be able to give assistance

NYS Clinicians: Best Practice Trainers, Inc is recognized by the NY State Department of Education  as a CE provider for NYS social workers (#SW-0519) and LMHCs (#MHC-0124) and has provider level approval to offer CEs to those NYS clinicians for these courses.   Registrants should note that only 1/3 of contact hours needed  for NY LCSWs and LMSWs can come from non-interactive web coursework.
