Online, Self-study, recorded webinar presented by Ruth Campbell, LCSW, Ph.D. & Richard Coleman, LMSW -2 CEs ($35)
In this two-hour long beginning to intermediate level recorded webinar created in November, 2021, for social work and other clinical professionals, Campbell and Coleman discuss the Resilience Ecological Stress Model and apply it to demonstrate how counselors can respond to crises or to long-term disability to enhance resilience of individuals and communities. Participants will be able to: define resilience,  list two individual traits which are considered resilient, list two reactions to stress which are considered resilient, list two kinds of situations in which the best practice is for a counselor to enhance resilience, explain one way a counselor might enhance resilience of youth caught up in addiction.

About the Authors:

Richard Coleman, LMSW is currently in practice in upstate New York. He has over 50 years experience working in mental health settings as a clinician and author, and 20 years experience in direct practice with Substance Use Disorders. He is an engaging and dynamic clinician. Read his bio here.
Ruth Campbell, LCSW, Ph.D.  is currently in private practice in New York City and in upstate NY. She is the Continuing Education Director of the non-profit organization Best Practice Trainers, Inc. (BPTI), which has a research and training mission. She has 40 years’ experience working in mental health settings as a clinician, teacher, and author, and over 20 years’ experience in direct practice with Substance Use Disorders. Course Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:
1) List two individual traits which are considered resilient
2) list two reactions to stress which are considered resilient
3) list two kinds of situations in which the best practice is for a counselor to enhance resilience
4) explain one way a counselor might enhance the resilience of youth caught up in addiction.

Course completion requirements

To earn CE credit, participants must log in, attend the entire course as determined electronically and complete a course evaluation and posttest with at least 75% accuracy. Participants will have a second chance with access to training materials if they do not pass at 75% the first time. Further attempts must be authorized by the CE Director. Certificates of completion will be emailed within 10 business days of course completion. Course credit through any organization cannot be given retroactively. No partial credit can be given for any partially completed course.
