Course and Certification Specifics 

Refunds will be given in exceptional circumstances only within a month of registration. Previous payments will be honored only within the calendar year of registration.

Course completion requirements

To earn CE credit, participants must log in, complete a pretest (for recorded A/V courses only), attend the entire course as determined electronically, complete a course evaluation and a posttest with at least 75% accuracy. Those who do not make 75% the first time can have a second try with the availability of the training materials. Further attempts must be authorized by the CE Director. Certificates of completion will be available immediately upon successful completion of the course. Course credit through any organization cannot be given retroactively. BPTI will give no partial credit for any partially completed course.

Certification Specifics

NYS CASACs: Best Practice Trainers, Inc is a recognized CE provider for NYS OASAS (#0806) and has individual course and provider level approval to offer CEs for these courses to NYS re-credentialing CASACs.
NY social workers and LMHCs
Best Practice Trainers, Inc (BPTI) is recognized by NYSED as a CE provider for NYS social workers (#SW-0519) and LMHCs (#MHC-0124) and has provider level approval to offer CEs to NYS SWers and LMHCs. NYSED is currently (March, 2022) allowing all NYS clinician certificate needs to be met by distance-learning courses.
All Other Social Workers: The Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program has given approval for all courses to be offered by Best Practice Trainers, Inc. as individual courses for CE credit. Individual courses, not providers, are approved at the course level. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. ACE course approval period: 5/29/2022 – 5/29/2024. See individual course pages for confirmation of ACE approval, and for type and number of CEs available for social workers. For re-credentialing CASACs

Best Practice Trainers, Inc (BPTI) is sponsoring the study of treatment issues relating to substance use disorders. BPTI is offering a free online OASAS- approved 6 CE CBT course to re-credentialing CASACs from 2018 to 2022 (and beyond) as an incentive for participating in the research. For All Social Workers

Best Practice Trainers, Inc (BPTI) is sponsoring an Ethics study and an SBIRT study in 2021-2022. The WCGIRB (855-818-2289) has approved research protocols. We are interested in social workers' confidence, their use of SBIRT, and their ethical decision-making. The outcomes from the SBIRT study will determine how social workers can help slow down the opioid epidemic. The outcomes from the Ethics study will help to determine how social workers make decisions in ethically-conflicted situations.
Social workers in six states (NY, TX, VA, NC, ME, and ND) are invited to participate. Please note that, if you are a social worker in one of those six states, you can get two online ASWB ACE – approved and NYSED-approved courses (5.0 CE total) FREE for your participation. Best Practice Trainers, Inc. is required to keep a record of your certificate, the course materials which you used, the posttest which was used as part of the course and the course instructor’s name for six years. At any time, you can write or email to retrieve your certificate or find out about the course materials.
